The City of Globe is accepting applications for a Pool Manager in the Economic and Community Development Department.
This position is responsible for the overall operation of the Globe Community Center Pool, supervising all pool employees, hiring and training of lifeguards, prioritizing, and assigning work; creating an environment of quality customer services, ensuring that employees follow policies and procedures; and ensuring the safety of all who use the facility.
*MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS* · High School diploma or GED equivalent.
· Two seasons as a lifeguard.
· Ability to achieve American Red Cross Lifeguard/First Aid & CPR/AED certificate.
· Certified Pool & Spa Operator (CPO) certification within six months of hire.
· Valid Arizona Driver’s license required.
*DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES*: · Oversee all lifeguard and pool staff activities.
· Oversees daily opening, operations, and closing of the pool.
· Greets customers, responds to inquiries and requests, provides information, assistance or instruction regarding procedures, facilities, services, or other items.
· Assigns work to employees; schedules work and employees; trains employees in work methods and procedures; takes steps to correct inadequate performance; resolves discipline and serious performance problems in conjunction with the City’s HR Department.
· Implements and monitors activities, procedures and policies related to the operation of the pool.
· Responds to requests, complaints, or issues and provides information and resolves conflicts or issues.
· In coordination with Public Works staff, maintains water quality at acceptable levels.
· Supervises and performs routine cleaning of pool, splash pad, bathhouse, and related areas.
· Requisitions and maintains adequate stock of chemicals and supplies necessary to maintain cleanliness of water and pool areas.
· Collects or ensures proper collection of fees; maintains all reports related to fees, attendance and water quality as required by ADEQ and the Health Department.
· Enforces all rules and regulations as they relate to pool safety.
· Communicates positively and effectively with co-workers, parents, pool patrons, program participants, coaches, and volunteers.
· Supports the City’s policies, goals and objectives and works with management to achieve such goals and objectives.
· Ensures compliance with safety procedures.
· Develop off-season programing and pool/recreation management responsibilities.
· Manages emergency situations.
· Other duties as assigned.

· Remain calm under pressure or emergency situations.
· Establishing and maintaining cooperative working relationships with coworkers and other individuals in contact during the course of work; communicating clearly and concisely; following instructions.
· Appling lifesaving techniques and rendering first aid to various age groups.
· Dealing tactfully and courteously with pool patrons and spectators.
· Knowledge of City procedures, policies and guidelines.
· Uses and purposes of aquatics equipment including lifesaving devices.
· Knowledge of Pool safety operations and life guarding.
*PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING ENVIRONMENT:* Work is performed in outside weather conditions with high exposure to the sun.
Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, run, and climb.
Required to demonstrate the ability to swim.
Vision abilities required by this job include close perception, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Employees are regularly required to reach with hands and arms, and to use hands to finger, handle, feel or operate objects, tools and equipment.
May work a flexible schedule which includes nights, weekends, holidays, and extended hours.
*SALARY RANGE:* $37,338 to $41,165 Annually, $17.
95 to $19.
27 Hourly (Grade 9, Steps 1-3) Dependent on Experience.
This is a non-exempt (eligible for overtime) benefited position.
