German shepherd (Show Low)

We have a German shepherd who desperately needs a home, we can no longer live in the place we are living, we are moving back to MN and will have to stay with family members when we get there, nobody will allow him to be there.
He is dog aggressive, also acts aggressive towards strangers mostly out of fear I think, he does well with people as long as I'm not there and he's not in his yard.
He does fine with cats and children.
I know this is a long shot but I really want to find him a good home, our only other choice is putting him down and we don't want to do that.
He is very well behaved in the house, he does not need to be Kenneled.
He listens very well and knows all basic commands
