Position Responsibilities:
Report to work fit for duty and support the Western Industrial Resources safety culture.
Follow directions.
Use appropriate hand and power tools to fit and install all types of pipe and/or similar tubular products; cut or drill holes in walls to permit passage of pipes; select specified type and size of pipe; mount pipe hangers and brackets on walls and ceilings to hold pipe; install valves, couplings and other fittings; disassemble and remove damaged or worn pipe; and lift, position and secure materials and work pieces during installation.
Develop complete understanding of plans and specifications, lay-out, install and/or repair all types of piping systems in accordance with those plans and specifications.
Cutting with torch, grinding, cutting with Metabo, Rigging, and signaling crane, forklift, boom truck, etc.
Any other job duties that are required by management that pertain to this craft
Support Western Industrial Resources right to a drug free workplace.
Use and support the use of our Stop Work Authority when necessary.
Qualifications:
Minimum 5 years of experience in the craft.
Must possess the hand tools required to complete their assigned duties.
A positive attitude, self-motivated, eagerness to learn and a willingness to work hard every day.
An ability to lead by a positive example and a commitment to working as a team.
Attention and commitment to safety and an ability to follow instructions.
Valid Driver s license and clean driving record if assigned to a company vehicle.
Ability to multi-task and attention to detail.
Negative preemployment drug test.
Must have a working knowledge of pipe-fitting techniques and methods.
Must be experience in application and installation of threading pipe as well as operating pipe threading machine
Education & Experience:
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Physical Demands:
Ability to move 75 pounds.
Physical dexterity, stamina, and excellent hand-eye coordination with the ability to: grasp, assemble and lift objects, stand, sit, and walk for extended periods over uneven surfaces, squat, bend, climb ladders and lie down.
Work Environment:
Ability to work outdoors with constant exposure to heat, cold, wind and rain.
